The MILD Technique
The Mnemonic Induction of Lucid Dreams can be done in a few steps.
1. Dream Recall
Set an alarm for late into the night. If you have had a dream in this time, remember it, write it down in your dream diary. Remember it well.
2. Focus
When you fall back to sleep tell yourself you intend to recognize that you are dreaming. "I will remember I am dreaming. I will remember I am dreaming". Keep telling yourself this until you fall asleep.
3. Repeat 2 and 3.
If at first you don't succeed, try and try again. Try the methods again and again, I have tried this methods myself and they work. It takes time to get used to them.
